Oceanographic research ship Admiral Vladimirsky measures depth en route from Baltics to Mediterranean

The oceanographic research ship Admiral Vladimirsky is being on the first stage of the mission within the 2nd international expedition in the Indian Ocean under the auspices of the UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. The crew surveyed 1.290 lane kilometers of depth en route from Kronstadt to the Strait of Gibraltar.

Moreover, military hydrographers carried out 14 researches using hydrographic stations and 1,300 km of gravimetrical survey of the sea bottom in order to update hydrographical charts en route from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean. 

The vessel Admiral Vladimirsky has the mission to perform hydrometeorological survey in order to update hydrographical charts through the Baltic, Northern, Mediterranean, and Red seas as well as in the Indian Ocean and north-east Atlantic Ocean.
