Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga accepted and handled a Panamax ship

AO Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga says it has accepted and successfully handled a Panamax ship, Good Hope Max (deadweight - 87,400 tonnes, length - 225 meters, width - 32 meters). On 11 June 2018 the ship moored at the berth of Yug-2 terminal with the loading starting the same day and lasting for 2 days.

At the berth the ship was loaded with 42,700 tonnes of D-grade export coal (to reach the maximum draft) and left for additional loading up to 74,000 tonnes. The ship will soon leave for the port of destination – Marmara (Turkey).

“This call has confirmed the readiness of our port to accept and efficiently handle large capacity ships of Panamax class. As of today cargo owners have confirmed the calls of two more vessels expected in the nearest time”, said  Yevgeny Savkin Director General of AO Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga.

AO Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga is a stevedoring company operating Multipurpose Terminal YUG-2 and Auto-Railway Ferry Terminal. In 2017, the terminals handled 3.8 million tonnes of cargo.
