Cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs up 2% to 2.37 million tonnes in 5M’19
By 1 June 2019, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs totaled 2.37 million tonnes (+2%, year-on-year), Azov-Don Basin Administration told IAA PortNews.
In January-April 2019, transportation of transit cargo grew by 11% to 1.81 million tonnes, internal turnover dropped by 36% to 227,000 tonnes.
In January-April 2019, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 1,278 vessel movements including 547 downward and 731 upward (versus 1,291 in the same period of 2018: 586 downward and 705 upward).
In May 2019, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin fell by 6%, year-on-year, to 1.304 million tonnes. Transportation of heavy fuel oil accounted for 36.7%, sulphur – for 16.9%, vacuum gasoil – for 6.6%. Transit cargo flow dropped by 4% to 1.182 million tonnes, internal turnover – by 18% to 122,000 tonnes.
In May 2019, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 748 vessel movements including 353 downward and 395 upward (versus 801 in May 2018: 378 downward and 423 upward).
The total length of the waterways in the area of responsibility Azov-Don Basin Administration is 691.3 kilometers.
