ASPA lays down non-self-propelled pontoon of Project GRPN for Ark Shipping Company
Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association (ASPA, United Shipbuilding Corporation) has laid down a non-self-propelled pontoon of Project GRPN, says press center of United Shipbuilding Corporation.
The ship was ordered by Mashpromlizing JSC with Ark Shipping Company acting as a lessee.
“This spring we delivered two non-self-propelled barges of project 7514, launched a cruise ship of Project PV300VD and now we lay down a new vessel – cargo pontoon of Project GRPN. Today, shipbuilding is among the priorities of industrial policy in the Astrakhan region”, tells Rustam Khalitov, Acting General Director of Rosshelf JSC during the ceremony.
Nikolay Sochin, General Director of Ark Shipping Company LLC, emphasized that the shipyards of the region have successfully built nine barges of various designs.
Non-self-propelled pontoon of Project GRPN is intended for transportation of mixed cargo on the deck with a possibility of Ro-Ro loading/unloading operations. The construction is supervised by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
Key characteristics: LOA – 85.5 m, BOA – 16.5 m, depth – 4.5 m, unloaded displacement – 990.0 tonnes, load line displacement – 4,201 tonnes, load line draught – 3.11 m, cargo capacity – 3,000 tonnes.
