Leningrad Region signs agreement on new dry cargo transshipment facility in Vysotsk
New dry cargo transshipment facility is to appear at the port of Vysotsk (Vyborgsky District, Leningrad Region). An agreement on cooperation under the project has been signed by Aleksandr Drozdenko, Governor of the Leningrad Region, and Pavel Terminal-Osipov, General Director of SPK Vysotsk LLC, at Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2019), says press center of the regional Government.
“It is a large and modern project, especially relevant one, since today Russia features a considerable deficit of facilities for transshipment of export coal. Extensive investments of RUB 24.3 billion will provide our region with both a new port and new jobs and tax payments, that means further development of the region”, said Aleksandr Drozdenko.
The project comprises a railway infrastructure, an offshore mooring facility, cargo storage and other facilities needed for accepting, processing, storing and loading of coal onto seaborne transport.
The first phase of the project foresees the launching of a loading line with annual capacity of 7 million tonnes by 2021. The second line is to be launched by 2023. It will let expand he throughput to 15 million tonnes per year. The project implementation will let generate more than 500 jobs.
