In January-May 2019, port Kavkaz handled 9.966 million tonnes of cargo (-35%, year-on-year). According to statistics obtained by IAA PortNews regional correspondent from the port Authority, exports via the port’s offshore transshipment facility decreased by 24% to 3.774 million tonnes.
Exports from port Kavkaz surged 2.4 times to 661,000 tonnes while imports plunged by 73% to 30,000 tonnes, short-sea traffic – by 46% to 5.418 million tonnes.
Transshipment of coal grew 3.1 times to 1.869 million tonnes, sulfur – 3.5 times to 961,000 tonnes. Meanwhile, transshipment of grain dropped by 51% to 3.383 million tonnes, oil products – by 6% to 2.975 million tonnes, inert aggregate and ore – 4.8 times to 165,000 tonnes.
Bunker sales at port Kavkaz fell by 25% to 82,000 tonnes.
The number of calls to port Kavkaz fell 4.5 times to 2,327 calls.
