Container turnover of Klaipeda seaport up 38.8% in 2007 to 321,400 TEU

In 2007, container turnover of Klaipeda seaport grew by 38.8%, year-on-year, to 321,400 TEU, the port reports according to Gudok.Ru referring to Interfax. The port took the leading position among four Baltic ports handling containers. Klaipeda seaport also demonstrated the highest growth rates. The second largest throughput was that of the port of Riga. Its container turnover grew by 19.8% to 211,800 TEU. Seaport of Tallinn handled 180,900 TEU (+18.7%), Ventspils -16,800 TEU (+18.3%).
