Cargo turnover of Arkhangelsk port totaled 4 450.251 thou tons in January-October 2006 (-19%), Administration of Arkhangelsk Seaport told PortNews IAA. The port’s stevedoring companies accepted 325.371 thou tons of cargo (+ 27% against year-on-year result) including 153.972 thou tons of import cargo (+ 77.3%) and 171.400 thou tons of coastal trade cargo (+1.2%). Import structure was the following: container turnover - 39.003 thou tons (- 43.3%), machines and equipment – 1.724 thou tons (2.6 times as high as in January-October 2005), other general cargo - 113.245 thou tons (6.5 as high as in January-October 2005). Structure of incoming coastal trade cargo: container turnover - 7.309 thou tons (-1.1%), transshipment of metal - 15.445 thou tons (+8.1%), transshipment of metal scrap fell by 32.3% to 5.477 thou tons. Other general cargo - 128.568 thou tons (+0.2%).
Besides, the port shipped 4 124.879 thou tons of cargo (- 21.3%), including export of 1 157.550 thou tons (- 48.1%), coastal trade cargo – 2 967.329 thou tons (- 1.5%). Export structure is the following: oil and oil products - 94.883 thou tons (11.6 times less than in January-October 2005). Container turnover totaled 36.931 thou tons (- 27.2%). Timber cargo amounted to 529.444 thou tons (- 8.6%). Transshipment of metal scrap totaled 176.719 thou tons (+ 14.1%), coal and coke – 164.487 thou tons (+ 11.7%). Other general cargo - 8.721 thou tons (4.3 times as high as in January-October 2005). Outgoing coastal trade cargo included 2 519.223 thou tons of oil and oil products (- 6.3%), 8.004 thou tons of machines and equipment (- 42.3%), 67.121 thou tons of metal (+ 34.3%), 250.993 thou tons of other general cargo (2.2 times below 10M05). Transshipment of coal totaled 40.355 thou tons (+35%), container turnover – to 74.177 thou tons (- 37.4%).
