The acceptance certificate for the seventh dry-cargo ship project 006RSD05, built for Palmali Shipping, was signed at Volgograd Shipyard, MNP Group, the company reports. The dry-cargo ship “Zafira Aliyeva” was launched at the end of September.
Under the contract, signed in March, 2003, seven ships were to be built at the Yard for Palmali Shipping. The first ship of this series “Heydar Aliyev” was delivered to the customer in June, 2004, the second ship “Palmali Voyager” was delivered in September, 2004, the third ship “Ilyas Efendiev” - in August, 2005, the fourth ship “Nakhichevan” was launched in October, 2005. The fifth ship "Zeynalabdin Tagiev” was delivered in May, 2006; the sixth “Mir Jalal Pashajev” - in August, 2006.
Dry-cargo ship 006RSD05 is designed for transportation of bulk, timber and grain cargoes as well as special-purpose standard containers. Nowadays it is the largest domestic river-sea-going dry-cargo ship. The ship will be operated in the inland waterways of the European part of Russia with access to Volga-Don channel as well as in ice-free seas according to the class, including operation all-round Europe, in ports line Europe – the Caspian Sea, ports of the Azov and the Black Seas – the continent. Capacity of cargo tanks is 11,400 cubic m, dwt – 6,970 mt, length is 140 m, width – 16.5 m, depth – 6 m, and speed is 10.5 knots. It is fitted with double side and a double bottom. The project of the largest domestic dry-cargo ship was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau (Odessa, Ukraine) in co-operation with Palmali Shipping specialists for class КМ ЛУ1 1 II А1 of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and meets the requirements of worldwide Maritime convention.
In 2005 the British Royal Society of the marine architects acknowledged the dry-cargo ships projects 006RSD05, built at Volgograd Shipyard for Palmali Shipping, the best among the vessels of this class.
