Boskalis wins 400 mln euro jv contract at Port Rashid in Dubai
Royal Boskalis Westminster NV said on Wednesday it has won a 400 million euros contract for the redevelopment of Port Rashid in Dubai, to be carried out in a 50-50 joint venture with Belgian peer DEME.
Boskalis said it will earn about 200 million euros from the project, with work to start in the near future and to be executed within a period of two and a half years.
The work includes land reclamation including the construction of a breakwater and shore protection.
About 86 million cubic metres of sand will be dredged to reclaim 540 hectares of new land, to be used in part for the construction of a new cruise terminal.
DEME is a unit of Ackermans & van Haaren and CFE Group, a publicly listed civil contractor controlled by the French Vinci-Group.
