Super-shipyard in Primorie to commence first half, 2010

Construction of Zvezda-based (ship-repair plant) super-shipyard in Primori will commence first half 2010. As per Igor Hkruschev, director of industrial and transportation department of Primorskii krai, elaboration of project master-plans and initial works are being carried out to the date.

A super-shipyard will be constructed for gas-carriers building. An agreement on the aforementioned issue was signed between Far East centre of shiprepair and shipbuilding (branch of United Shipbuilding Corporati, OSC) and Korean corporation Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME). Heavy-tonnage vessels (tankers and gas-carriers), drilling ships, floating plants on liquefied natural gas production will be built here. South-Korean investors shall invest about $200,000,000 into the project.

Two super-shipyards will be constructed in Primorie, press-service of the regional administration stated. Construction of the second shipyard (30-th shiprepair plant-based) is to start second half 2010.

Both shipyard are projects of Far East centre of shiprepair and shipbuilding (branch of United Shipbuilding Corporation, OSC).

Is it planned to produce drilling equipment, oil platforms foundations and technical equipment at the shipyard of 30-th shiprepair plant in ZATO Fokino. Construction agreement is signed between Far East centre of shiprepair and shipbuilding and Singapore group of companies Yantai Raffles. The investment volume will amount to $100-200 mln.
