MOL hikes US to Asia dry cargo rates

MOL has announced that effective December 5, 2009, the company will increase ocean freight rates for all dry cargo originating in the United States and exported to Asia as follows:
General Cargo originating from US West Coast, Inland Points and East Coast ports to Asia will see a rate increase of:
20-foot Standard Containers  $120
40-foot Standard Containers  $150
40-foot High-Cube Containers  $150
45-foot Standard Container  $170
MOL (America) Inc. Executive Vice President Tsuyoshi Yoshida cited a continued strong demand for export cargo from North America: “Our tight inventory, incremental repositioning and an increase of fuel costs among other factors requires us to take this action,” said Yoshida.
