Gales and stormy weather have closed the port in Malta, according to sources, Platts Commodity News reported. "There's a force eight gale here, which has closed the port," a supplier to the port of Malta said. Priolo port in Sicily is also closed, a clean tanker source said. But so far, the clean market has been unaffected because of a good supply of vessels, according to sources. Deliveries into the Greek port of Piraeus have also been hit by the weather.
"Weather here is a real challenge today, deliveries are taking place but winds are going to cause some concerns," a source at Piraeus said. "The port is still open here but I can not see how as visibility is so bad."
