Cargo turnover of Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport OJSC (KMTP OJSC) decreased by 2.3 times (to 1.749 mln tons) in January-October, 2009 as compared to the corresponding period of 2008, stated stevedoring company. In October, 2009 KMTP cargo turnover amounted 170.3 thousand tons (2.2-time decrease against October 2008).
In January-October, 2009 487 thousand tons of cargoes was imported (2.27-time reduction), 1, 262,000 tons - exported (2.3-time decrease). Volume of petroleum products transhipped increased by 1.6 time (304.1 thousand tons) within the reporting period against the corresponding period of 2008. Ferrous-metals turnover decreased by 2.2 times (599 thousand tons) in January-October, 2009 as compared to the corresponding period of 2008.
Loaded containers turnover amounted to 1, 088 TEU, that of empty ones – 12, 740 TEU within the reporting period.

Almost all the transportation means are linked to the port as well as greater part of export-import cargo flow going through the region’s territory. Main shareholders of the port are Dork LLC (49%) and Gas-oil CJSC (12%). Stevedoring company cargo turnover amounted to 4.763 mln tons in 2008.
