RF Ministry of Transport plans to co-operate with freight-carriers associations to resist price dumping and unfair competition in the freight market. As per the Ministry press-service citing Igor Levitin, RF Minister of Transport, that took the ground at the Russian national conference ‘Effective price and tariff policy as means of implementation of Concept on long-term social-economic development of Russia’, cargo freight rates are formed based on the cost of services provided taking into consideration market conditions and consumers demand.
As per Levitin, in such sectors it is necessary to restrain unfair competition and force out of the market the freight-carriers that initiate price dumping by not paying taxes and relieving themselves from liabilities on service quality and cargo and passengers safety.
‘We very much count on assistance of freight-carriers associations, RF constituent entities in solution of this problem,’ press-service cited Levitin.
