Oil spots were recognized in the state seaport of Klaipeda (Lithuania) on November 10, 2009. As per Rossiiskaya Gazeta that refers to BNS, port administration informed rescuers of the port service set off to the place of accident. To prevent spots enlargement booms were installed.
The reasons and dimensions of the accident are being identified by the specialists of Agency of maritime environment. There is information the spots are quite small and they do not present any threat to the environment and people.
Klaipeda port is the northernmost ice-free port in the Eastern cost of the Baltic Sea; the largest transportation center of the Republic of Lithuania point of sea and inland ways link.
