Revenue in September was $382.5 million. In October, 1,555 vessels passed through the waterway, up from 1,454 in September, but down from 1,930 in October 2008.
In the first 10 months of the year, Suez Canal revenues fell by $1.035 billion compared with the same period the previous year.
The drop in revenues is was reportedly the result of a decline in the number of ships crossing the canal, from 18,085 in 2008 to 14,355 in 2009.
