A pier-based facility used for bunkering at the Swedish crude oil terminal Torshamnen is scheduled to be dismantled and removed, said ship agents AB August Leffler & Son.
An AB August Leffler & Son spokesman told Bunkerworld on Thursday that bunkering at Torshamnen is currently being carried out from barges.
The Gothenburg Port Authority plans to close the Torshamnen pier next Monday and Tuesday to carry out the work.
The work will be dependent on the weather and will only be carried out if wind speeds stay below 11 metres per second.
In any case, the spokesman said, both piers at Torshamnen will be temporarily closed for around two weeks, effective immediately, for maintenance work.
Players that receive crude oil cargoes at Torshamnen, or Tors harbour, as it is sometimes called, include AB Svenska Shell and Preem Raffinaderi.
