Unifeeder buys Polish feeder operator

Unifeeder has acquired InterMarine Container Lines (IMCL), thus creating Northern Europes’s leading feeder operator with a total of 33 vessels.
Unifeeder transports containers from the large European container hubs in Belgium, Germany and Holland to more than 30 regional ports across the Nordic Region, the Baltic States and Russia. According to Unifeeder’s web site, the fleet consists of 26 vessels with a capacity of between 508 and 1,425 TEUs.
IMCL is the largest feeder operator in Poland and transports containers between the main ports in Germany and Holland and the Polish ports in Gdynia, Gdansk and Szczecin as well as Riga in Latvia and Klaipeda in Lithuania. The company was established in 1996 and has, according to IMCL’s web site, 7 vessels with a capacity of between 366 and 672 TEUs.
IMCL is being purchased from Cyprus-based Lemissoler Shipping and the transaction is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
