Over 147 rolling stocks to be unloaded at DVZD stations

As of November 17, 2009, 147 rolling stocks (8345 rail cars) are waiting to be unloaded in the Far East railways (DVZD, branch of Russian Railways OJSC). As PortNews IAA learnt from the HR department of DVZD, ‘the situation with unloaded rail cars is about to become critical’.

As per the opinion of freight service specialists of DVZD, the main reasons of unloading process difficulties occurring in the ports and oil terminals of Far East region in November current year are above-level cargoes at the berths and oil terminals due to unsatisfactory vessels calling at the port for the cargoes to be taken, repair of handling equipment (Vanino, Nakhodka, Possyet), enterprise’s impossibility to work under temperature difference etc.

As per DVZD, to make the situation more stable a number of conventional restrictions were introduced. Prohibition on coal loading at Vanino station to Vanino Commercial Seaport was introduced since November 10 as well as Nakhodka station to Attis Enterprise LLC and to Nakhodka Commercial Seaport OJSC.

Besides, coal loading at Possyet station to Possyet Commercial Port was prohibited since November 15, 2009..

In addition to prohibitions on coal loading, there are conventional restrictions introduced on oil products loading at Blyukher station to Vostokbumnker CJSC and to Transbunker LLC on November 18 - 22.
