Russian ports cargo turnover may grow by 5-7% (to 480-490 mln tons) as of 2009 results against previous year figures. As per Alexandr Davydenko, Head of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot) of the RF Ministry of Transport the aforementioned data have been allowed for in the current year estimation, informed PortNews IAA journalist. At the same time, Davydenko pointed out that ‘there is 10%-increase as of 2009 year results’.
As for predictions for the next year, Head of Rosmorrechflot stated that there is 5-6%- increase of seaports cargo turnover predicted for 2010 as compared to 2009.
It is necessary to remind that Association of Commercial Seaports Russian seaports cargo turnover increased by 8.2% (to 412 mln tons) within 10 months 2009 года against the corresponding period of 2008.
