Geneva's Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a rate increase for cargo moving from the US to Asian ports from January 1. From US west coast ports, the increase will be US$150 per TEU and $200 per FEU on non-reefer boxes. For cargo moving from US west coast ports or originating at intermodal points on the east coast and Gulf ports the increase will be $150 per TEU and $200 per FEU.
For reefer cargo, the rate will increase $190 per TEU and $250 per FEU and for cargo moving from US west coast ports, originating from intermodal points. For cargo from US east coast and gulf ports and cargo moving from US east coast and gulf ports or originating from intermodal points and moving through US east coast and gulf coast ports, the increase will be $225 per TEU and $300 per FEU.
For reefer cargo, the rate will increase $190 per TEU and $250 per FEU and for cargo moving from US west coast ports, originating from intermodal points. For cargo from US east coast and gulf ports and cargo moving from US east coast and gulf ports or originating from intermodal points and moving through US east coast and gulf coast ports, the increase will be $225 per TEU and $300 per FEU.
