Shipbuilding and Shiprepair technology center (St.-Petersburg) has completed master plan elaboration of Shipyard Yantar OJSC development (Kaliningrad). As PortNews IAA learnt in the press-service of the enterprise, the project was elaborated the participation of a famous German company IMG-Group. There are all the west European shipbuilding techniques provided for in the project.
The objective of the project is to create a modern world-class shipbuilding enterprise in Kaliningrad that would provide compatibility of national shipbuilding of medium-tonnage vessels and of surface ships.
The project provides for construction of shipbuilding complex (compact-shipyard) in the region of the according staples Yantar and Burevestnik, optimization of internal production-transport flows of materials, components in accordance with engineering construction process, support of maximum independence of all the productions from weather and climate conditions influence; use of modern techniques in all the production branches with mechanization and automation means, high-performance equipment, effective transport systems in connection with modern methods of 3D-desinging of ships and vessels being implemented; provision of up-to-date production management based on corporative information system.
The investment required for the project implementation amounts to RUR 20 bln. Modernization will enable shipyard to build vessels and ships both for local and foreign customers.
The shipyard counts on state investments obtaining for project implementation.

Today "Yantar" is a modern and dynamically developing enterprise having wide experience in building and repair of vessels and ships of different classes and purposes. The shipyard has developed wide range of production directions: Commercial Shipbuilding, Naval Shipbuilding, Metal Structures Manufacturing, Shiprepair and Conversion, Shipbuilding from Aluminium Alloys, Mechanical Engineering Production.
