Vast oil spill found in the area of BERIL bulk-carrier sinking, the Azov Sea

Oil spill of 50 x 500 m was found in the Azov Sea. Two foreign vessels crashed in the Azov Sea Turkish motor-vessel Santa-Victoria and BERIL bulk-carrier (flying the flag of Sierra-Leone). BERIL sank. As PortNews IAA learnt from Black-Azov Sea administration of coast guard of the RF federal Security Service, volume of oil tanks in the sank vessel amounted to 30 tons.

‘Borderline vessel Khanty-Mansiysk arrived at the place of accident 1:00 p.m. The border guard found the top of BERIL’s mast and the oil spilt out of its tanks,’ the press-service reported.

As per the earlier information, two foreign vessels collided in the Azov Sea about 50 marine miles away from the shore in the fairway channel between Caucasus port and Yeysk port today at 7:57 a.m. As PortNews IAA learnt from the RF Ministry of transport, Turkish motor-vessel Santa-Victoria and BERIL bulk-carrier (flying the flag of Sierra-Leone) crashed. BERIL sank on his trip ex Rostov to Turkey. The depth in the arear of the accident is about 11 m. No victims. Russian Federation Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Response was earlier reported to get ready for the possible oil spill response in the accident area. There was no oil spill found as of the latest information.
