Drydocks World (UAE) to build liquefied gas floating storage for OLT Offshore LNG Toscana (Italy)

Shipbuilding company Drydocks World (UAE) will build a floating storage of liquefied gas for Italian OLT Offshore LNG Toscana. Saipem international company is the project subcontractor, Transport business reported with reference to Italian mass-media. Construction terminal is planned to be completed by mid 2010.

FSRU will be a floating terminal for liquefied natural gas (SPG-terminal). It will be moored at a depth of 120 m, 12 miles away from the shore of Italian Leghorn upon construction completion.  Liquefied gas delivery to the shore will be carried out via specially constructed pipeline. The terminal is capable of containing 137000 m3 of liquefied natural gas, its productive capacity will amount to 3.75 bln m3 annually.

Drydocks World - Dubai is occupied in modernization, construction and repair of vessels at its Dubai-located shipyards. It annually serves ones of the largest sludge barges and self-lifting drilling rigs. Shiprepair yards Drydocks World are fitted out with special tanks for liquefied natural gas storage and other modern equipment.
