Fujian ports container volume falls 6.6 pc in first 10 months

Ports in Southeast China's Fujian province posted a 6.6 per cent decline in container volume to 5.8 million TEU in the first 10 months, reports Xinhua.
Provincial ports moved 256 million tonnes of cargo in the same period, up 14.2 per cent year on year. Fuzhou port handled one million TEU, a 1.3 per cent increase and moved 70 million tonnes of other cargo, a 28.8 per cent rise. Xiamen container volume fell 10.2 per cent year on year to 3.8 million TEU, but enjoyed an increase of 12.4 per cent to 90.9 million tonnes of overall cargo.
