CMA CGM (France) launches a new service to the Black and Azov seas

CMA CGM launches a new service to the Black and Azov seas. As PortNews IAA learnt fron the company the service will be launched after New Year holidays in Russia. A container-carrier (300 TEUs) will run the route Konstanta-Istanbul-Novorossiysk-Taganrog-Konstanta within the service. The service is first of all designed for trade between Turkey, Rostov region and Krasnodarskiy kray as well as other regions of Central Russia.

A new service will operate as an additional one to already existing in Novorossiysk.  

French company CMA CGM is the world's third largest container shipping company with a fleet of more than 400 vessels operating in more than 200 services all over the world. The company calls at more than 400 ports of the world. CMA CGM is represented by 650 agencies in 150 countries. In 2008 net profit of CMA CGM amounted to $124 mln (–87% against 2007), its income – $15.1 bln (+28%), volume of shipments – 8.9 mlnн TEU (+15.6%). In 2008 volume of cargo shipped by the group amounted to about 9 mln TEU. Company’s staff amounts to 17 thou employees.
