The annual cooperation meeting between Shenzhen and Hong Kong was held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center yesterday afternoon. Chief Secretary for Administration of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Tang Yingnian, and Standing Member of Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen, Wang Rong were at the meeting.
Shenzhen and Hong Kong carried out a deep discussion and had reached several agreements on a series of specific issues of the cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Wang Rong pointed out that, facing the increasingly complicated international and national competitive pattern, Shenzhen and Hong Kong should adhere to the concept of “cooperating completely, giving prominence to the key points, complementing each other’s advantages, jointly creating the prominent future”, to further accelerate the cooperation step and promote Shenzhen and Hong Kong cooperation to a more extensive area and a higher level, attaching importance to the construction of Qianhai Modern Service Cooperation Area of Shenzhen and Hong Kong and other key projects.
In the discussion, reviewing the cooperation in the past one year, the two parties unanimously thought that, since the governmental delegation of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region visited Shenzhen in November last year, the cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong had had been promoted on an all-round base and have obtained plentiful fruits, for instance, the cross boundary traffic, port and other significant infrastructure projects have been smoothly promoted, the construction of “Shenzhen and Hong Kong Innovation Circle” has been deepened, the cooperation effect in the fields of commerce and trade, finance, tourism, environmental projection, education, cultural, health and inspection and quarantine is obvious, and the common views of accelerating to promote the cooperation are more firm.
In the discussion, the two parties also put forward some specific suggestions on how to accelerate to promote the cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong and reached agreements on several significant cooperation projects. Wang Rong said in the meeting that accelerating to promote the cooperation confirm to the common will of the two governments and peoples.
After the discussion, the two parties signed seven cooperation agreements of constructing “Shenzhen and Hong Kong Innovation Circle”, innovative technology cooperation, education, culture, medicine, tourism, and inspection and quarantine. After the singing ceremony, Tang Yingnian and Wang Rong jointly met the journalists and answered the questions of Medias.
