Russian Antimonopoly Service examines the state of competition in the market providing services for the transportation of cargoes in the direction of "Ust-Luga - Baltiisk"

Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS), is currently examining the state of competition on the market of services for the transportation of goods in the direction of "Ust-Luga - Baltiisk. The study of FAS pays special attention to issues such as collusion to raise prices, the market sharing, imposition of unfavorable terms of the contract for counterparty, obstructing access to the commodity market or exit from the commodity market to business rivals, the FAS press release reads.
In this connection, the Russian FAS has appealed to citizens and legal entities to inform the service of possible infringements of the antimonopoly legislation in this market.
The marine rail-car ferry "Ust-Luga - Baltiisk - ports of Germany" is intended to provide reliable transport connection between the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions and the ports of Germany. The ferry "Baltic” transports trains, vehicles, and automobile trailers. The distance between the ports of Ust-Luga and the Baltic is over 500 nautical miles.
