Moscow Police Department press office has confirmed Saturday the death of the chairman of the Trans Nafta Board of Directors. MPD said a team of investigators was investigating at the scene to confirm the alleged suicide.
The investigators said they had not detected any traces of murder in the case. It is not yet clear what might cause the businessman suicide.
Vladimir Kondrachuk was born in 1965. He founded and headed the Trans Nafta company in 1997. According to an unofficial report, Mr. Kondrachuk’s family held 80% stake in the company (20% owned by the managers).
Since Trans Nafta start, it had been an operator for five years of Gazprom's export of oil and gas condensate. As a national importer the company participated in the UN’s oil-for-food program for Iraq.
Trans Nafta has been currently selling the gas produced by independent Russian companies mainly in the local market. In 2003-2007, the company sold 15 billion 088 million cubic meters of gas to consumers in Russia and CIS countries, including 8 billion 708 million cub m in Russia, 5 billion 734 million cub m in Belarus, and 646 million cubic meters were exported to Azerbaijan.
