FCC posts 8.000 tons of Stora Enso Oyj goods carried since early this year

First Cargo Company (FCC OJSC) has transported since the beginning of 2010 more than 8.000 tons of pulp and paper produced by the Finnish Stora Enso Oyj via Russia to the CIS countries. In the first half of March FCC has carried 4.000 tons of the transits, PortNews IAA reports citing the company’s statement.

«Stora Enso produces the highest quality products and expects its partners provide to the same level of service. We appreciate that Stora Enso has entrusted FCC the delivery of its goods, and hope for further long-term cooperation with the company. We are expecting increased traffic volumes since Freight One Scandinavia has started operating,” Denis Mechev, the chief of the Baltic&CIS department of St. Petersburg branch was quoted as saying.
 
Freight One Scandinavia is a subsidiary of FCC and VR Cargo Finnish Railways. FOS was established in early December 2009, and began operating in March. Since early the company has carried over 2.000 tons of transit cargoes (paper, polyethylene, paints) to Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan.

First Cargo Company OJSC is the largest Russian operator in rail transportation. RZD, state-owned Russian Railways, holds major ordinary shares in FCC OJSC.
First Cargo Company was established in July 2007. FCC OJSC maintains and operates its own 200.000 units of rolling stock, or 21 percent of the Russian railroads’ rolling stock fleet. Last year, FCC transported over 230 million tons of commodities.

Stora Enso Oyj is one of the world's largest enterprises specializing in manufacturing various kinds of paper, pulp and wood products.
