NUTEP’s containers volumes at 40.222 TEUs in Q1, a 52.6% surge

In the first quarter of 2010 volume of containers shipped through Novorossiysk Nodal Forwarding Company (NUTEP) reached 40.222 TEUs, a 52.6% spike over Q1, 2009. In March 2010, the NUTEP terminal has seen 11.996 TEUs, as much as 2.2 times increase from March 2009, the press service of National Container Company (manages NUTEP) said.

6.051 TEUs of outbound commodities passed via NUTEP terminal, inbound cargoes totaled 5.945 TEUs. Laden and empty containers ratio was 71% to 29%, respectively. Overall, in March the terminal handled 16 ships. Average turnover a vessel amounted to 750 TEUs.

National Container Company (NCC) is the largest and leading container operator in Russia. The owners of the NCC in equal shares are the First Quantum Group and the FESCO Transport Group. In 2009 the total volumes via NCC’s containers terminals amounted to some 1.2 million TEUs, contributing 42.1% to overall output at Russian container ports.
