Now revived the service will deploy five 5,500- to 6,500-TEU ships, two from Hong Kong's OOCL and three from Japan's NYK and will go back to its old rotation of Busan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Los Angeles, Oakland and back to Busan.
The Grand Alliance will also commence a new Eur-Asia-WCNA pendulum service by merging the Asia-Europe Loop B and the transpacific NWX loop into a pendulum service deploying 16 new 7,500 to 8,750-TEU Hapag-Lloyd ships, reports Paris-based Alphaliner.
The service is expected to eventually deploy 8,750-TEU ships when three Hapag-Lloyd newbuildings to be delivered this year join the loop.
The tentative rotation of the new Loop B-NWX pendulum is Hamburg, Antwerp, Southampton, Cagliari, Port Said, Jeddah, Jebel Ali, Singapore, Shenzhen-Shekou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, Busan, Seattle, Vancouver-Delta Port, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe, Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen-Shekou, Shenzhen-Dachan Bay, Singapore and back to Hamburg.
