Azerbaijani oil exports via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline doubled in Q1, 2010 to 448.780 tons

The volume of oil exported by SOCAR, Azerbaijan State Oil Company through the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline, increased as much as two times in the first quarter, up to 448.78 tons, Rusenergy reports.

In March 2010 the port of Novorossiysk exported 159.513 tons of SOCAR oil. The one barrel of Brent crude on the world market was traded at $78.9, Urals crude, at $77.04, BTC FOB Ceyhan - $79.61.

SOCAR is shipping via the port of Novorossiysk the crude oil produced in its own fields, as well as oil produced by joint ventures and companies operating in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan receives in Novorossiysk Urals brand oil via Baku-Novorossiysk, mixture with the oil of other producers. Amoco was the B-N pipeline operator before the end of 2007. Since then SOCAR has been operating the pipeline.
