In the first quarter of 2010 exports through the coal terminal at the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) rose by 1.3% as compared with January-March 2009, to 1.5 million tons, RosTerminalUgol (part of KuzbassRazrezUgol OJSC) statistics data said. The company said on March 31st the last (in Q1, 2010) coal shipment was loaded onto Krainev the Artists coal carrier.
RosTerminalUgol open joint stock company was established in 1996 to create and operate the coal terminal at the commercial port of Ust-Luga. The terminal projected capacity is at 8 million tons of coal a year. RosTerminalUgol provides loading service, freight forwarding services. It builds, maintains the facilities of specialized coal handling complex at the seaport in the Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland. The Company provides insurance services for goods and property, the transactions risks. The coal terminal has two berths of total length of 540 m and depth at the berths of 14 m, which allows accommodation of 240-m-length, 32.2-m-width vessels. In 2009 the terminal transshipped 7 million 83.538 thousand tons. 99.242 rail cars offloaded, 200 ships were handled at the terminal.
