Alexander Shokhin, President of Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE) published a letter today greeting the guests and participants of 10th International Transport Exhibition "TRANSTECH-2010" and the 2nd International Conference "The Future of Russian ports”, the event organizers said. Earlier, PUIE had endorsed the event, which is to be held in October 2010 in St. Petersburg.
"The conference will discuss current issues related to the development of infrastructure and superstructure of marine and estuarine Russian ports, their integration into a system of international maritime transport, the ports’ interaction with intermodal transport as well as other issues aimed at developing and modernizing the country's transport infrastructure", Mr. Shokhin’s letter reads.
TRANSTECH Exhibition established in 1994 with the support of the Ministry of Transport, Russian Academy of Sciences. Russian Railways, Federal State Unitary Enterprise RosMorPort, the Government of St. Petersburg, and other Russian coastal regions, Trade Unions and Associations of Russian Cargo Carriers have been active participants of the Exhibition. In 2008 the Association of Commercial Seaports decided the International Conference "The Future of Russian Ports" would be held together with the Exhibition. The Conference has enjoyed since the support of the Maritime Collegium of the Russian Government, the Maritime Board under the Govt. of St. Petersburg, the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport, Russia’s Ministry of Transport.
