"The cargo is basically the production of metallurgical factories. The cargo laden cars waiting for discharge are scattered from the Astrakhan-2 to the port Olya station. If urgent measures are not taken to remove this traffic jam, the Astrakhan branch operations will be frozen", Sergei Shatov, the first deputy head of commercial services of PrivZD said.
About 50 tank-cars have been reportedly idle at the Trusovo station since April 2nd. The train is delivering the cargo for LukOil "Astrakhan". The consignor explained the tanker had not arrived at the port, expected by the end of this week. The Railroad statement said the trains turned out a so-called warehouse on wheels for shippers.

To resolve the crisis a transport ad-hoc commission of the Volga Railroad has arrived to negotiate with the consignees, the Company said.
Olya Port is located 100 km south of Astrakhan on 67th km of the Volga-Caspian Canal near the village of Olga. The Port handles general cargoes, container and ferry goods. Transit freight volumes are passing though Port Olya year-round from the Caspian Sea to / from Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and India. There are border crossing and customs posts operating at the port of Olya. Last year the Port’s output totaled 775.300 tons of inbound and outbound commodities.
