FECD launches a “dry port" customs clearance scheme in Vladivostok

The first trial shipment of goods carried by the sea to the Port of Vladivostok were delivered for temporary storage and customs clearance formalities at Rostek-Primorye warehouse of Vladivostok Customs. The Russian Federal Customs Service will see if the experimental “dry port” scheme works smooth to implement it further in the regions close to the federal border and Russian seaports.

According to the FECD’s press service customs officers at the so-called dry port are authorized to conduct all necessary customs procedures with inbound goods imported to the Port of Vladivostok. The experiment had been initiated in accordance with the “Concept of Customs Clearance and Customs Control of Goods” to take some of the trade volumes passing via the seaports and relieve customs posts there.
