The new surcharge on breakbulk cargo is $38 per metric ton (1,000 kilograms), as freighted, with a minimum of $38. The last time Intermarine adjusted the bunker surcharge on breakbulk cargo was as of Feb. 1, 2009, when it set it at $36 per metric ton.
The new the surcharge on containers is $370 per 20-foot equivalent unit and $650 per 40-foot equivalent unit. This is the same level as the bunker surcharge it announced as of Feb. 1 last year.
The surcharges apply to all inbound and outbound cargoes and will be effective for all cargoes loaded to carrier’s vessels on or after May 6.
