The 106m-long, 19.2m-wide, 6m-draft PGS Apollo is a specially designed ship having a 3D-survey system installed for seismic researches. The system will be used to search for oil and gas fields in the North Sea. The vessel is equipped with two main diesel engines with MAN B & W 9lL 32/40, rated power 4500 kW. The ship also has two auxiliary diesel engines MAN B & W 6L 32/40, of 3000 kW.
The Cyprus-flagged PGS Apollo begins operating as early as this spring.
