They have discussed the main aspects of cooperation in reducing transportation costs for grain shipments to the Far Eastern ports, development of the facilities for the storage, handling, and transportation of grain via the Far Eastern Corridor and, in particular, of a grain terminal at the Port of Vladivostok.
The both sides will form a working group to develop and implement specific measures aimed at ensuring Siberian grain shipments through the Port of Vladivostok later this year.
Vladivostok remains the only Far East port capable to ensure export, import and coastal trade flows, up to 1 million tons of grain a year.
In Q1, 2010 the CPV reported it handled 38.152.4 tons of grain, including 28.174.7 tons for export, 9.977.7 tons in coastal trade.
The stevedoring company has been building a specialized grain terminal of annual capacity of 3 million tons.
Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port owns and manages the handling facilities at the seaport of Vladivostok, one of the largest seaports in the Far East of Russia. CPV has 17 berths, including the specialized ones - container, passenger, and automobile. CPV is part of the Transport Group FESCO. In 2009 the stevedore posted a 4.9% growth year-on-year, to 6 million 205.1 thousand tons of cargoes.
