Shipments of goods by river transport in March jumped 55% from last year’s March, to 350.800 tons, while seaborne freight declined by 7.2% to 329.700 tons. International freight traffic gained 43.7% to 516.200 tons. Inland traffic volumes dropped by 26.1% from March 2009, to 164.300 tons, the Ukrainian statistics agency said.
In 2009 water transport of the country had seen a year-over-year 50% slump, to 9.763.100 tons of cargoes.
