The Swedish full-service supplier of packaging solutions, SCA Hygiene Products in Russia, has selected AKG LOGISTICS as its logistics partner for the freight management of all sea containers from Japan to the Port of Hamburg and to the Russian personal care manufacturing facility in Veniov, south of Moscow.
Here, diapers of the brand Libero are produced for the Russian market. Following a careful planning phase, AKG LOGISTICS came up with a customized and integrated freight management and IT approach for time-definite goods deliveries. The service includes the acquisition of sea freight containers in Hamburg, stowage, securing and the addition of the container depots as well as the ocean freight to St. Petersburg. At the port, the containers are loaded onto low loaders and customs cleared on the way to Veniov in Moscow. To enable all transportation parties to see the current transport status at any time, the young logistics company offers a specially developed IT tool called "AKG ContTrack".
The first order included ten 40 ft Flat Racks, one 20 ft Flat Rack, eight 40 ft Open Top Containers and five 40 ft standard containers. "The outside temperature during delivery of the first contract in Veniov was minus 26 degrees Celsius. In addition to customs clearance, this was our greatest challenge. Of course, both were solved in an experienced manner", comments Arkadius Grabietz, Managing Director of AKG LOGISTICS, the new business.
