Russian Govt. to rise export oil duty by 5.6%, to $284.063 a ton from May 1st, experts say

The crude oil duty exported from Russia will increase from May 1, 2010 by 5,6% - to $284.063 a ton, RBC reports citing the RF Ministry of Finance.

From March 15 to April 14, 2010 Urals Brand was traded an average at $78.71 a barrel, says Alexander Sakovich, the chief of Analytical Department of the Russian Ministry of Finance. Thus, according to the formula, the export duty on crude oil from May 1st is be at $284.063 a ton, for light oil products at $203.7 a ton, heavy oil products - $109.7 a ton.

From April 1st the rate of export duty on crude oil in Russia has been reportedly set at $268.9 a ton. The rate of export duty on crude oil in Mar., 2010 was at $253.6 a ton. The export rate rose by 6% as compared with March.

Export duties on light oil products (light distillates, middle distillates) from April 1st, gained 5.6% to $193.5 vs $183.2 a ton in March, on heavy oil (liquid fuel, oil, processed oil products) the same 5.6% to $104.2 against $98.7 in March.
