Lena Shipping plans to carry 1.5m tons this year’s navigation

Lena United River Shipping Company (LURSC OJSC) projected 1.5 million tons of commodities to transport during the navigation of 2010, Sergei Larionov, the LURSC’s General Director said in an interview with Sakhalife.

"We plan to carry 1.500.000 tons. We’ve signed an agreement with a potential freight owner last winter. There is an increase in the Arctic destination. Hopefully, the Dzhebariki-Haya mine won’t let us down with coal", Mr. Larinov was quoted as saying.

The Company has ordered a tanker at Zhataisk Shipyard, the construction currently frozen, Mr. Larinov said, adding his company was running a fleet renovation program, including passenger cruise ships.

Lena United River Shipping Company OJSC is the largest shipping company of the North-East region of the country. Lena Shipping is carrying goods and passengers by inland waterway and sea routes, providing international freight forwarding services.
