OOCL posts a 7.2% gain in containers to 1m TEUs in Q1,10

In the first quarter Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has increased the volume of container traffic by 7.2% from Q1,2009 to 1.480.741 TEUs, the OOCL statement said.

The Pacific service volumes fell 3.3% to 270.261 TEUs, while the Asian-European service has seen a 10.3% rise to 21.181 TEUs, in the Transatlantic destination a 2.1% gain to 87.190 TEUs, in the intra-Australia service - by 13.6%, to 510.000 TEUs.

OOCL’s first-quarter revenues rose by 18.9% to $1.134b
