Wadan Yards Okean Shipyard JSC in Nikolaev of Ukraine launched four river-sea going barges ordered and built for Nibulon Ltd, an agricultural enterprise, Nibulon press service reports adding another contract has been signed on building of NIB-01 Project vessels.
The two ships were part of the 16-barges contract signed March 6th last year. Eight other ships are scheduled to be launched soon adding by April this year to Nibulon’s 24-vessel fleet.
The Nibulon’s NIB-01 Project 6-pushertug contract means building of ships with following specifications: tug length - 37.81 m width - nearly 11 m, depth – 3.5 m, draft – 2.4 m, main engine power rated 2x940 kW, speed of 11.5 knots. The tugboat carries a 10 crew, to stay on board some 12 days.
An earlier report said the Nibulon’s $150-m investment project includes construction of 7 grain elevators and river terminals of a total warehousing capacity of about 300.000 tons, 24 108.000-dwt river-sea going barges and 14 river-sea going tugs. As of April, Nibulon’s fleet comprises 20 self-propelled vessels. The Company has acquired three tugboats, one - river ships and two coastal ships.
