Transit car traffic to link western border of Russia with Vladivostok, due to open this year

This year Chita-Khabarovsk highway is due to be completed giving the green light to car traffic from the western border of Russia to Vladivostok, the Russian Govt. press service said quoting Prime Minister Vladimir Putin speaking today at the State Duma.

"This means that finally a through traffic will be open from the western border of Russia to Vladivostok. I am confident that the new highway will bring many benefits, as well as the Trans-Siberian, and will serve Russia for centuries", Vladimir Putin was quoted as saying.
