Evergreen Group to negotiate a 100-containership order

Evergreen Line plans to boost its fleet of container carriers and eyes a 100-containership order, the Journal of Commerce reports citing the Evergreen Group Chairman Chang Yung-Fa. The Company will pick the shipyards and start negotiating all specifications this May. Evergreen plans to negotiate orders with several shipbuilding companies in South Korea, Taiwan and China. The Company refrained so far from ordering new ships for 2.5 years.

Evergreen has currently operating a fleet of 148 container ships of a total capacity of 551.490 TEUs. The Taiwan-headquartered company has 240 offices across the world, in Asia, America, Europe, Australia, Africa and the Middle East.
