St. Petersburg-Helsinki regular ferry service starts operating

A regular St. Petersburg - Helsinki ferry line starts operating. The maiden voyage of Princess Mary, the ferry serving the line, is due on April 21st from the St. Petersburg Marine Station.

The ferry is designed to carry 1,638 passengers and nearly 395 vehicles. ST. Peter line, the ferry service operator, expects the Princess Maria will be making 5 voyages a week from St. Petersburg and Helsinki. The ship has 606 cabins of various classes. The ferry will be leaving from Helsinki to St. Petersburg on Monday, Thursday and Saturday and from St. Petersburg to Helsinki on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The ferry is expected to transport this year 500,000 passengers, including 200-300,000 foreigners who can benefit from visa-free entry to Russia for 72 hours.
